Graduate students are encouraged to apply to the Global Studies in London Program. You do not need to fill out an honors application. Simply apply on the Study Abroad site.
Graduate students will be given extra time, if they like, to engage in research at one or more of the libraries, institutions, records offices, etc., in and around London (the Public Records Office, the British Library, the Women's Museum, the School of Oriental and Asian Studies, etc.). Arrangements can be made for archival work that would speak to your field of research.
All graduates students take ENGL 596 for 6 credits or can opt to take both ENGL 596 and IDIS 590 for 3 credits each. You will be encouraged to write a paper designed for publication in your appropriate field of study. You also have the option of writing a section of your MA thesis or dissertation, based on research done while in London and Paris.
Graduate students can get summer financial aid for the 6-credit program. Students in the English Department and its affiliate programs who are interested should contact Graduate Director Ryan Schneider to arrange for 6-credit standing if they are only taking ENGL 596.
You can also talk to the English Department Graduate Director, financial aid, and the Study Abroad offices about funding.
